How Online Therapy Works

Online therapy is exactly what it says on the tin — therapy that happens via video call. It’s now the favoured way of accessing support for many clients, with convenience being the biggest reason.

Working online not only allows you greater choice in who you see, but also greater flexibility in when you see them. For busy professionals who struggle to find time to commute to a traditional therapy room, online therapy fits neatly into your day — just like any other online meeting, from wherever is convenient for you.

Sessions last 60 minutes and are arranged for a day and time that suits you best. I offer sessions Monday to Friday, 8:30am–8:00pm.

If you experience any technical difficulties, I’m available by phone or email to help you resolve them quickly and without fuss.

All you need for online therapy

  • A private space where you won’t be disturbed
  • A computer, phone, laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone
  • A stable internet connection

Sessions take place via Zoom, a secure video platform. You don’t need to download anything — simply click the link in your email and you’ll be taken straight to your online therapy room. There is no cost to you for using the platform.

The First Session

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and to begin to understand what has brought you to therapy. There is no expectation to share everything at once — we’ll move at your own pace and only go where feels right for you.

It’s also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have, and for us to explore what you’d like to gain from working together and how we might get there.
